• Mamideb advises people in their mid-20s to delay marriage and focus on personal growth.

• She believes the 20s are best spent traveling, finishing school and discovering oneself.

• According to Mamideb, serious family life and wealth-building should come in the 30s.

Ugandan entrepreneur and reality TV star Mamideb, born Deborah Nantongo, has some straightforward advice for anyone in their mid-20s—and she’s not sugarcoating it. Known for her standout role on Kampala Crème and Vibes and Visas, Mamideb has become a fan favorite thanks to her confidence, business hustle, and unapologetically glamorous lifestyle. So when she was asked what guidance she would give a 25-year-old, her answer came quickly: don’t rush into marriage.

In her view, 25 is far too young to be stressing over wedding plans. Instead, she believes this is the season for personal growth—finishing school, booking flights, and collecting life experiences that shape who you are. “Your 20s are for traveling,” she says, explaining that your 30s should be focused on building a family and making serious money.

Mamideb encourages young people to use this time to truly figure themselves out. What do you want from life? What excites you? What kind of career do you see yourself building? According to her, these are the questions that matter most in your mid-20s. Settling down can wait; self-discovery can’t.

She also urges young adults to work hard toward their goals while still allowing themselves to enjoy life. Travel widely, explore the world, and don’t be afraid to live a little along the way.

For Mamideb, the message is clear: know yourself first, build your foundation, and let everything else fall into place when the time is right.
