Ugandan socialite and entrepreneur Deborah Nantongo Cleave, popularly known as Mamideb, has opened up about attempts by certain individuals to stop her husband, Michael Cleave, from marrying her.

During an appearance on Sanyuka TV with Haffy Powers, Mamideb revealed that people would send her husband messages claiming they had proof she was not the right partner for him. Despite this, Michael reportedly never entertained the messages and would forward the screenshots to Mamideb.

“The problem would have been if Michael didn’t share these messages with me. But our relationship is built on good communication, so he always keeps me in the loop,” Mamideb said.

She explained that Michael would even tell her how he planned to block those sending the messages, emphasizing the trust and openness between them.

“Having a partner who shares everything with you makes a huge difference. It shows respect and transparency,” she added.

Mamideb also shared that she has been teaching Michael Luganda, and he can now use a few words such as mpako, neda, and others.

It is worth noting that Mamideb is the owner of Boujee, a luxury fashion store in Kisementi, and she is actively involved in farming, particularly poultry. She previously starred in the Kampala reality TV series Kampala Cream, which aired on Pearl Magic Prime, before her exit in October 2025.

Apparently, she met Michael Cleave while living in the United Kingdom, where she spent 25 years studying Business with Law at Kingston University before returning to Uganda.
