Speaking out on the ongoing debate about performance standards, Cindy stressed that musicians largely perform for adult audiences, often in controlled nightlife settings. Because of this, she believes there is no justification for authorities to dictate dress codes or stage conduct.

Her remarks come amid growing concerns from some sections of the public, who have questioned the appropriateness of certain outfits, dance styles, and performances by female artists. These voices have called for stricter regulation, arguing that such content should be monitored.

However, Cindy and several of her peers view this as a direct threat to artistic freedom. She emphasized that creative expression is central to their craft and warned that interference would undermine the industry’s growth and independence.

“If the government tries to police how we dress on stage, that’s the day I’ll join the protests.”

Despite her firm stance, Cindy acknowledged her history of collaboration with government on various initiatives. Even so, she maintained that she would not hesitate to join fellow artists in protest if such regulations were enforced.

On a different note, the singer expressed satisfaction with her working relationship within the music fraternity. She stated that she has no issues with King Saha in his leadership as vice president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) where she’s the president.

She revealed that she is pleased with how he is executing his duties. Cindy also revealed that past misunderstandings with the Kenzo’s federation were resolved, and relations are now stable.
