Michael Kabonge, popularly known as Ewan Maiko, has finally spoken out about the ongoing dispute surrounding the social media accounts of Ugandan TikTok sensation Tenge Tenge, whose real name is Saad Ssozi.

The disagreement has sparked public debate after Tenge Tenge and his father, Edrisa Ahmed Kikomeko, accused the manager of lacking accountability and transparency regarding finances generated from the young creator’s social media platforms.

According to Maiko, the accounts were not simply handed to him but were created and built from the ground up through years of effort alongside Tenge Tenge.

Maiko explained that his initial dream was to establish a dance troupe inspired by groups like Ghetto Kids and the Wembley Mo Foundation, where he trained several children, including Tenge Tenge and his siblings. However, while the other children later returned to school, Tenge remained actively involved in content creation.

“I started these accounts from scratch and built this brand together with Tenge. If they are taken away from me, I remain with nothing,” Maiko said.

He revealed that he even involved his aunt in helping care for the youngster while hoping the viral content would attract support and sponsorship opportunities to help Tenge return to school.

For this reason, he insists he cannot simply surrender control of the pages.

Meanwhile, Tenge Tenge’s father argues that the accounts were a joint effort and should not be treated as the sole property of one person.

“When he says the accounts are his alone, it undermines fairness and equity because this journey involved more than one person,” Kikomeko reportedly maintained.

Despite the tensions, Maiko says he is open to dialogue and renegotiation. He stressed that he has no desire to destroy Tenge Tenge’s career, noting that he genuinely cares about the young star and hopes both sides can find common ground moving forward.
