  • The singer is promoting her latest single, Oli Mwana Woha, her second song recorded partly in Rutooro after Enkwazi Yange.

Legendary Ugandan singer Juliana Kanyomozi has finally opened up about why she has largely stayed away from interviews over the last decade, saying her silence was never intentional but largely influenced by the timing of her music releases.

Speaking during an interview on Vybe Lyfe with Eddie Sendi and Jenkins Mukasa, the celebrated vocalist admitted that she previously preferred speaking to the media only when she had a project to promote. However, she says that mindset has now changed.

“I used to do interviews whenever I had a project coming out because I needed to communicate and promote it. But of late I’ve decided to communicate more because there’s so much I’d love to share,” Juliana said.

The award-winning singer added that she wants to mentor and inspire the next generation of female musicians by sharing lessons from her own journey in the music industry.

“There’s so much I would love to share and teach, especially when it comes to young female artists. I hope to do more of these interviews in the near future.”

Juliana also dismissed claims that she had gone quiet musically, noting that she recently released Oli Mwana Woha, a song performed in both English and Rutooro.

The Princess of Tooro revealed that recording in her native language has always been a personal dream. She described the new release as her second Rutooro song, following Enkwazi Yange, which she recorded many years ago.

“I’ve always wanted to do something in Rutooro. Doing another song in my mother tongue was such a special moment for me.”

The singer expressed pride in the new project and encouraged fans to listen before concluding that she has stepped away from music.

Juliana’s remarks come after years of speculation from fans who often questioned her absence from interviews, public appearances and industry events.
