  • Feffe Bussi says D’Mario is free to leave FBM Studios and start his own venture.
  • The rapper says modern music production is no longer tied to one physical studio.
  • Feffe Bussi also questioned how UPRS calculates royalties paid to musicians.

Rapper Feffe Bussi has broken his silence on reports that producer D’Mario moved out of FBM Studios and is setting up his own studio.

D’Mario’s departure from Feffe Bussi Music had sparked conversation among fans, with many wondering whether the two had fallen out. But according to Feffe Bussi, there is no bad blood between them, and the producer is free to pursue his own path.

Speaking about the matter, Feffe Bussi said he introduced D’Mario to the music industry as a friend who wanted to try his luck, not as someone he permanently owned or controlled. He added that he is happy DiMario has grown into a respected producer and can now build his own brand.

“I brought D’Mario into the industry as a friend and brother, but I do not own him. If he wants to start his own studio and do his own thing, that is fine.”

Feffe Bussi also dismissed suggestions that leaving FBM Studios was a big issue, saying the music business has changed and producers no longer need to be tied to one physical studio.

“Studios are mobile these days. It is no longer about one place where everyone must go, remove shoes and follow all those old protocols. Work can be done from anywhere.”

The rapper revealed that he too has already ordered equipment for his own studio setup, which he says will be operational soon.

Away from DiMario’s exit, Feffe Bussi also weighed in on the ongoing UPRS royalties debate after musicians complained about receiving very little money. The discussion recently intensified after Weasel Manizo reportedly received Shs285,000 in royalties, while Spice Diana previously revealed that she once got just Shs20,000.

Feffe Bussi said the bigger issue is not even the amount artists receive, but how the money is collected and how the final figures are arrived at. He added that he is yet to receive his own royalties, although he does not expect much.
