Dr. Lawrence Muganga has responded to critics who believed that missing out on a ministerial appointment would negatively impact his career, saying he remains unbothered by public opinion.

Speaking during an interview, the Victoria University vice chancellor said criticism has never been something that affects him because his sense of purpose is not tied to political appointments.
“Criticism doesn’t bother me. Missing a ministerial position appointment doesn’t define me as I already have a good job, I love what I do, and I’m given a very good salary,” he said.
Muganga went on to compare his earnings with those of government ministers, revealing that he earns significantly more in his current role.

“No minister is paid the amount of money that I am paid. You would have to combine the salaries of two ministers to match what I earn,” he stated.
He also addressed those who have continued discussing his situation, saying everyone has the freedom to express their opinions, but their comments do not concern him.
According to Muganga, God gave every person a mouth, a brain, and a head, and each individual chooses how to use them. As such, he believes people are free to say whatever they want, but he has no reason to lose sleep over their opinions.
