Ugandan rapper Victor Kamenyo has responded to social media influencer Kisitu Kirabo following remarks she made after contributing to a TikTok fundraiser for his baby mama, Ruth Akoragye.

The controversy began after Akoragye held a fundraising campaign on TikTok, where she claimed Kamenyo had failed to provide adequate child support for their child. The fundraiser attracted contributions from several well-wishers, with Kirabo reportedly donating more than Shs500,000.

After learning about Kirabo’s donation, Kamenyo said he questioned whether the contribution was genuinely intended to help his child or motivated by something else. According to the rapper, he and Kirabo were once romantically involved while he was also in a relationship with Akoragye, adding that Akoragye was aware of their past.

“When I heard that Kisitu Kirabo had contributed, I first wanted to know whether it was done with a genuine heart because we have history together.”

Kamenyo said he found it surprising to later see videos of Kirabo saying she could never date him, insisting the claims contradicted their past relationship. He also dismissed her comments about him, saying he had no interest in engaging in a public back-and-forth.

“I don’t like taking these matters online. If someone wants to help my child sincerely, I have no problem with that, but I also have to understand the intention behind it.”

The rapper further defended himself against allegations that he has neglected his parental responsibilities, maintaining that he has consistently supported Akoragye and can provide evidence of the assistance he has given over the years. He also revealed that he had previously planned to help her establish the boutique business she is now fundraising for.

Kamenyo expressed disappointment that issues involving his children had become public, saying he worries they could one day come across the videos online and form a negative opinion of him. While welcoming support for his children, he maintained that such efforts should be driven by genuine concern rather than personal differences.
