Newly elected LC1 Chairman Solomon Serwanjja has laid out an ambitious roadmap for transforming Bamutakudde Village, with clean water, proper planning, and improved governance topping his priorities.

Speaking about his vision for the village, Serwanjja revealed that his first assignment will be conducting a comprehensive census of every household, including livestock and pets. According to him, understanding the exact population is essential for effective planning and service delivery.

“I’m taking my council out on a retreat so that we reflect on how best to serve our people,” he said.

The three-day retreat, which will be held at Naggalaale Country Home, has reportedly been fully sponsored by a well-wisher. During the retreat, Sserwanjja and his council will receive governance training from experienced professionals he has invited to equip the team with the skills needed to effectively manage village affairs.

“We shall leave Naggalaale Country Home with a strategic annual work plan on how best to lead our village,” he explained.

Addressing some of the pressing challenges facing residents, Serwanjja identified access to clean water as his immediate concern. He lamented that many families still rely on ponds for drinking water due to the lack of proper wells.

He disclosed that plans are already underway to construct several wells across the village, thanks to support from his friend, Hajji Kaliisa, who has donated a solar-powered water system with more than 10 taps to provide safe water to the community.

Looking beyond water, Serwanjja said he intends to mobilize resources from both within and outside the village to implement his development agenda. He emphasized that working with a strategic plan would help the leadership prioritize urgent needs instead of acting without direction.

“The first three months will be for sorting the water problems, the next three months will be for putting street lights across most roads,” he revealed.

The newly elected chairman expressed confidence that his administration will turn Bamutakudde into a model village, demonstrating how effective leadership and proper governance can positively transform a community.
