According to Kitaka, artists should prioritize connecting with their audiences rather than using the size of their concert venues as a measure of success.

He believes that genuine fans will continue to support and seek out their favourite artists regardless of where they perform.

“We should just be okay with singing for our fans more than proving to the world that we’re big,” Kitaka said.

His comments come at a time when filling large venues has increasingly become a major measure of success in Uganda’s music industry, with several artists recently staging concerts at some of the country’s biggest event spaces.

For him, however, the true value of an artist’s career lies in the relationship they build with their fans rather than simply the number of people they can attract to a venue.
