Veteran Ugandan musician Mesach Semakula is set to mark his 50th birthday with a special concert dubbed “50 of Greatness” on November 13 at Kingdom Kampala.

Speaking to Sanyuka TV, Semakula revealed that Next Media has fully come on board as a partner for the concert, which will coincide with his birthday and celebrate his five decades of life and music.
The singer called upon fellow 50-year-olds, as well as anyone who turns 50 this year, to join him for what he described as a celebration dedicated to their milestone.
“I have never organised a birthday party for myself. This will be my first, but I have decided to bring it as a concert because 50 years is worth celebrating.”

Semakula said the night will be filled with love, cake, celebrations and merrymaking, promising performances from several musicians from his generation.
He also urged his friends, fans and fellow entertainers to turn up in large numbers and celebrate the milestone with him.
“This is not just my night. It is a night for everyone who is making 50. Let us come together and celebrate greatness.”
The concert marks a significant milestone for Semakula, who has spent decades in Uganda’s entertainment industry and established himself as one of the country’s enduring musicians.
Next Media’s partnership with Semakula adds his name to a growing list of musicians whose concerts have received backing from the Naguru-based media company, including King Saha and Spice Diana.
For Semakula, however, “50 Years of Greatness” is more than a concert. It is a celebration of life, friendship, music and the journey that has brought him to his golden jubilee.
