Kadongo Kamu singer Mathias Walukaga has revealed that he does not intend to turn his wife into a celebrity, insisting that there is only one star in his household — himself.

Speaking during an interview on Sanyuka TV’s Uncut, the Tulepuke singer was asked how he manages his life as a musician, politician, public figure and husband.

“I can manage them all. I can manage the music industry, politics and what else and marriage. First of all, I’m the only star in my home. I don’t allow my wife to become a star,” Walukaga said.

The singer explained that his wife is comfortable away from the spotlight and has her own responsibilities, including running a salon and taking care of their children.

“She is not a star and she did not want to become a star. If she wanted to become a star, she would have been a star. But she is doing her works diligently,” he said.

Walukaga also addressed the curiosity surrounding his wife, noting that he prefers to keep his family life private.

“Many people have been asking me that question, why don’t you show us your wife? It’s not necessary,” he said, adding that he will introduce her publicly when he believes the time is right.

“If it is the right time for me to show my wife, I’ll be showing her,” he added.

Meanwhile, Walukaga confirmed plans for a major concert at Sheraton Gardens, where he intends to celebrate his extensive music catalogue.

The singer said he has written, recorded and released about 300 songs since joining the music industry, although he will only perform a selection of those he considers to be ahead of the rest.

He revealed that he had initially planned to stage the concert in 2021, but his entry into politics disrupted those plans.

According to Walukaga, the concert will finally happen because he now has financially capable organisers and feels personally prepared for the occasion.
