Swangz Avenue singer Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi, has revealed that she does not see herself getting married anytime soon, adding that marriage may not even be part of her future.

“I know this opinion will bring a lot of controversy and people will have different opinions, but there are certain institutions I feel are not made for me. One of them is marriage,” Azawi said.

The singer was quick to clarify that her position does not mean she looks down on people who choose to get married. According to her, many men and women genuinely value marriage, find inspiration in it and aspire to build their lives around it. However, she does not share the same desire.

“I believe in marriage, and I believe it has to happen, but I don’t think it is meant for me,” she explained.

Azawi further revealed that her perspective has been shaped by the experiences she has witnessed among married people. She suggested that the memories and situations she has encountered have not necessarily presented marriage in a positive light, influencing her decision to keep her distance from the institution.

Her remarks offer a glimpse into the singer’s personal outlook on relationships, at a time when marriage remains a significant social expectation for many people.

In a lighter moment during the conversation, Azawi was asked how she deals with her natural needs if she does not intend to get married. Responding humorously, the singer said she simply eats and passes through, drawing attention back to her characteristically candid approach to personal questions.
