Singer Sheebah Karungi has sparked debate on social media after declaring that women should prioritise financial stability over fighting for men.

Sheebah took to her social media platforms on Wednesday with a series of posts in which she encouraged women to focus on building their financial independence rather than competing for romantic partners.
“LADIES, FIGHT FOR FINANCIAL STABILITY NOT MEN. Before you type that long paragraph, take a deep breath. You’re about to miss the point spectacularly,” she wrote.
The singer also shared a video accompanied by the caption, “Fighting over a man? Girl, it’s 2026, nobody wants men anymore.”

Sheebah later doubled down on her message, making it clear that she believes women should seek partners who contribute meaningfully to their lives rather than men who expect to benefit from their success without offering anything in return.
“YES! I SAID IT. IT’S 2026! WE DON’T WANT MEN, WE WANT MONEY. WE WANT KINGS WHO BUILD QUEENS. NOT RANDOM MEN WHO WANT VIP ACCESS TO A QUEEN WITH NO CONTRIBUTION TO THE QUEENDOM. Ladies, fight for financial stability, NOT MEN! TETUJJA BALWANIRA NEWEMUNYIGA,” she added.
Sheebah concluded the post by saying she had made her point and was going to bed, leaving social media users to debate her remarks.
The singer has consistently expressed feminist views, often encouraging women to value themselves, pursue financial independence and avoid defining their worth through relationships with men.
However, her comments also come against the backdrop of public scrutiny surrounding her personal life, particularly following the birth of her son with UK-based promoter Jaffar Suleiman.
At the time, Sheebah faced criticism from some social media users who alleged that she had become involved with a married man. Jaffar’s estranged wife, however, came out to clarify that she and the promoter had separated long before his relationship with the singer.
