- Buchaman’s contract as Presidential Advisor on Ghetto Affairs has been renewed.
- He currently earns Shs2.7m but takes home about Shs1.6m after NSSF deductions.
- The singer says he needs at least Shs5m to support his 23 children and responsibilities.
Singer and presidential advisor Mark Bugembe, popularly known as Buchaman, has revealed that his contract as Presidential Advisor on Ghetto Affairs to Yoweri Museveni has been renewed after a period of uncertainty.

Speaking about the development, Buchaman explained that the renewal came after what he described as a “hassle and bustle” with the president’s office. With the new arrangement, he says his contract will continue running under the same terms as before.
Buchaman was first appointed to the advisory role in 2020 alongside other figures from the entertainment industry, including singer Catherine Kusasira, to help guide government engagement with ghetto communities.
Despite the renewal, the singer says he hopes his salary will be increased because the current pay barely meets his responsibilities.

“My contract has been renewed after some hustle with the president’s office. It will continue running like before,” Buchaman revealed.
He explained that his official salary stands at Shs2.7 million, but after statutory deductions such as NSSF contributions, he receives roughly Shs1.6 million on his account.
“I earn Shs2.7 million but I only receive around Shs1.6 million after NSSF deductions. I would prefer at least Shs5 million because I have many responsibilities,” he said.
The singer also pointed out that he currently has 23 children to take care of, adding that the number could grow in the coming years.
According to Buchaman, supporting such a large family, alongside his duties as a presidential advisor, requires more financial support. He believes a salary increment would help him effectively manage both his family obligations and his advisory role to the president on issues affecting ghetto communities.
