Media personality Caroline Marcah says that men who are financially struggling should not be prioritising dating or romance. In her view, a man who is broke has no business getting into relationships, celebrating love, or even trying to live beyond his current reality.

She advised that whenever a financially struggling man feels tempted to get close to a woman, he should instead “close his eyes” and redirect that energy toward finding ways to make money. For Caroline, financial stability comes first — everything else can wait.

She didn’t stop there.

Caroline also criticised the growing habit of creating WhatsApp groups to raise money for small celebrations like birthdays or Valentine’s Day.

To her, that’s a clear sign of living beyond one’s means. She questioned why someone would celebrate milestones when they are still battling serious financial hardships.

“A broke man shouldn’t be celebrating Valentine’s Day and birthdays because what are you celebrating? Another year in poverty?” she asked.

Making her stance personal, Caroline revealed that she has already warned her own friends never to create WhatsApp fundraising groups for her birthday. She says she believes in living within her means and wants others to adopt the same mindset.
