Ugandan musician Cindy Sanyu has sparked conversation after questioning why some women choose to give birth primarily for men rather than for themselves.

Speaking about the significance of 2026, which she described through numerology as a year symbolizing new beginnings, Cindy said women should use this period to redefine their lives and long-term goals — especially regarding motherhood.

The “Boom Party” singer clarified that her remarks are not a reflection of dissatisfaction in her marriage to Prynce Joel Okuyo. She emphasized that she is content and fulfilled in her relationship, urging the public not to misinterpret her message.

Before welcoming her first child, Amani, Cindy said she deeply reflected on whether she was ready to take full responsibility as a parent — with or without the presence of her first baby daddy, Mario Brunete.

“I asked myself if I was ready to raise my child whether the father is present or absent. I had to be sure I could do it on my own.”

According to Cindy, motherhood should be a personal decision grounded in preparedness rather than pressure. She stressed that she always considers giving birth her responsibility and something she does for herself, not as a favor to her partner.

“Women should be financially and mentally ready before creating a whole human being. If you’re not ready, enjoy the intimacy — don’t rush into motherhood.”

Cindy warned that bringing a child into the world while stressed or unprepared can have lasting emotional consequences for both the mother and the child. She encouraged women to be confident, stable, and self-assured before taking on the lifelong responsibility of parenting.
