  • He skipped Uganda’s recent presidential elections, citing the overwhelming political scene.
  • The rapper feels at home in Kenya and wants Ugandan artists to respect his name.

D-Star Hoozambe, known for his high-energy, street-inspired tracks, isn’t rushing into politics anytime soon. In a recent interview, the rising star admitted he didn’t vote in the recent presidential elections, explaining that the political scene feels confusing and overwhelming to him.

When asked why he hadn’t shown up at campaign rallies like some of his peers, D-Star was candid. “Most of those artists—King Saha, Gravity, and the others—already have houses, money, and years in the game. Me? I’m barely a year old in this industry. I can’t afford to get caught up in politics right now. I have dreams,” he said.

For now, his focus is firmly on building his music career. “Politics is none of my business,” he added. “I prefer to watch from the sidelines like everyone else.”

Hoozambe also revealed that he spends a lot of time in Kenya, where he says he feels most at home as a ghetto kid. “When I’m in Kenya, I’m at home. I speak Luganda, I raise the Ugandan flag, and I want artists back home to put some respect on my name,” he declared proudly.
