The former couple, who share three children, were together for several years during their youthful days. However, their relationship eventually crumbled amid allegations of mistreatment, domestic violence, and neglect. What followed was a bitter and highly publicized split that left both parties at the center of public scrutiny.
Speaking in a one-on-one interview on Shalom 256, Amir revealed just how deeply the separation affected him. Beyond the headlines and social media debates, he says the experience took a serious toll on his mental health — so much so that he considered leaving Uganda altogether.
“Everything I had built for life had gone down the drain. Life didn’t make sense to me anymore,” he admitted.
At his lowest point, Amir says he had about Shs 7 million saved on his bank account and was ready to walk away from everything and start afresh in a new country. To him, it felt like there was nothing left to hold onto.
However, he eventually reconsidered the decision. Instead of fleeing, he chose to rebuild.
Today, Amir says he is reaping the rewards of that choice. Having moved on from the painful chapter, he has redirected his energy into business and is now thriving in the hospitality industry, proudly owning two restaurants.
Looking back, what once felt like the end of the road turned out to be the beginning of a new chapter.
