Rising Ugandan deejay Apple 256 has confidently declared that she has no competition among the country’s female DJs, insisting that her technical ability and versatility place her in a league of her own.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Frank Ntambi, Apple 256 explained that her craft goes beyond simply mixing songs. She said she is also skilled at scratching, a technique she believes many of her peers have not mastered.

According to the deejay, her wide-ranging music selection is another factor that distinguishes her from the rest. While she acknowledged that many trending female DJs have built their brands around Amapiano, she prides herself on being able to seamlessly play multiple genres.

“I play Kadongo Kamu, RnB, Afrobeats, Dancehall, Amapiano, and all kinds of music. That’s why I don’t compete with Ugandan female deejays,” she said.

Apple 256 also revealed that she does not look up to any female DJ in the country, despite acknowledging that some are capable of playing different genres.

Instead, she said her inspiration and competition come from established male deejays such as DJ Nimrod, Magic Touch, DJ Trizzy, and other seasoned entertainers whom she described as powerful and highly skilled in their craft.
