• Eddy Kenzo refutes claims that marriage to Minister Phiona Nyamutoro changed his behavior in relationships.
  • He emphasizes that titles and positions do not define a good marriage; responsibility and care do.
  • Kenzo stresses that he has always been a committed husband and father, advocating mutual respect in relationships.

Musician Eddy Kenzo has come out to dispel claims that he became a better husband after marrying State Minister for Energy, Honorable Phiona Nyamutoro.

Kenzo was previously married to fellow singer Rema Namakula, with whom he shares a daughter. Their seven-year marriage ended in a split, and Rema later married Dr. Hamza Ssebunya in 2019.

Over the years, Kenzo has faced allegations of infidelity and has been labeled by some critics as an irresponsible partner. However, during an interview with former Sanyuka TV presenter Isaac Kaiyz Kawalya, Kenzo emphasized that these claims are unfair.

“I have always strived to be a good partner. Marrying a minister does not change who you are in a marriage. Titles and positions can come and go, but being responsible, caring, and respectful in a home is permanent,” Kenzo said.

He went on to explain that a strong marriage is not built on status or titles, but on genuine care and mutual respect. According to Kenzo, qualities of a good partner include ensuring that your spouse never feels like they are begging for attention or love—he likened this to avoiding a “one-way traffic” in a relationship.

Kenzo concluded by reiterating that he has always been a committed husband and father, and that the essence of marriage lies in responsibility, not social standing.
