  • Eddy Kenzo’s manager Muhumuza Martin Beta claims “Nkulowozaako” is bigger and better than Bebe Cool’s entire music output over the past five years.
  • Beta dismissed Bebe Cool’s “Break The Chains” album, saying only “Cheque” and “Circumference” gained attention, largely due to collaborations.
  • The exchange has reignited the long-standing rivalry between Eddy Kenzo and Bebe Cool, keeping fans and the music industry divided.

Eddy Kenzo’s camp has fired back strongly at Bebe Cool, with his manager Muhumuza Martin Beta boldly claiming that Kenzo’s hit song “Nkulowozaako” is bigger and better than anything Bebe Cool has released in the last five years.

The rivalry between the two music heavyweights has continued to simmer, especially since the NRM campaign period. Tensions first flared when Eddy Kenzo accused Bebe Cool’s team of sabotaging his performances by switching off sound whenever it was his turn to perform for the President. Although the issue was later resolved, the bad blood never fully disappeared.

More fuel was added to the fire recently when Bebe Cool released his much-talked-about “Bebe Cool List of 2025.” In that list, Bebe Cool appeared to take a swipe at Kenzo’s role in pushing for the Copyright Law to be signed, questioning Kenzo’s understanding of how the Copyright Law Management System would work, particularly in tracking and distributing royalties. The comments did not sit well with Kenzo’s camp.

Speaking during an interview on NOW Media UG, Beta dismissed Bebe Cool’s opinions, saying the singer is not as big as he believes to be commenting on everything. He went further to compare Bebe Cool’s recent music output to Eddy Kenzo’s “Nkulowozaako,” insisting the comparison is not even close.

“Bebe Cool’s catalog in the past five years versus Nkulowozaako — Nkulowozaako is better,” Beta said. “It doesn’t matter whether the songs are 20, 40 or even 70. If you put them side by side with Nkulowozaako, you can check for yourself. Sit down and play each of Bebe Cool’s songs from that period and match them against Nkulowozaako.”

Beta also took aim at Bebe Cool’s recently released “Break The Chains” album. According to him, only two songs from the album — Circumference and Cheque — managed to gain noticeable airplay. He pointed out that Cheque stands out mainly because of its collaboration with Joshua Baraka.

“Cheque by far has the most streams on the album,” Beta said. “The second best song in terms of streams is possibly Circumference, and even then, its views are way lower than the most streamed song on the album. And honestly, if Joshua Baraka wasn’t on Cheque, it wouldn’t be anywhere.”

While acknowledging that his remarks may spark debate, Beta urged music fans to do their own research before judging his comments. He emphasized that he was simply sharing his personal view, adding that “as irrelevant as it may be to some people, it remains my opinion.”
