• Enid Mirembe says she left Jonathan Nalebo because she was unhappy in the marriage.
  • She denied claims that Nalebo was responsible for her financial success.
  • The Rolex Festival is expected to return this year after being paused in 2024 for restructuring.

Enid Mirembe, the wife of self-styled celebrity pastor and former media personality Jonathan Nalebo, has finally shared her side of the story regarding their breakup.

The couple separated about two years ago after being together for close to five years and having a child together. At the time, Nalebo took to social media and wrote a lengthy public letter addressing the separation and what he described as the way forward. His post led many people online to believe that he had been the one who ended the relationship.

However, Mirembe now says the situation was not as many assumed.

“Just because someone writes a public letter doesn’t mean they are the one who left the relationship,” she said, suggesting that the reality behind the split was different from what people thought.

Mirembe explained that she has never been comfortable discussing family matters publicly, which is why she chose to remain silent for a long time. According to her, she made the difficult decision to leave the marriage because she was no longer happy.

“I left because I wasn’t happy, and I’m glad I made that decision. Life has continued moving on smoothly, and I have no regrets,” she said.

She also pushed back against claims that Nalebo was responsible for her financial growth. The entrepreneur noted that she had already started building her career before the two met.

Mirembe is widely known as the founder and proprietor of the Rolex Festival. She revealed that the event did not take place last year because the 2024 edition did not perform as expected, prompting her to go back to the drawing board.

She said she is now planning a much bigger and better festival this year.

Mirembe also noted that she has benefited from government support, revealing that both the Uganda Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities have been key partners in supporting her initiatives.
