Ugandan singer Grace Khan has finally been discharged from a rehabilitation centre after her outstanding bill of six million shillings was cleared by the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).

The intervention was spearheaded by federation president Eddy Kenzo together with several fellow musicians who stepped in to support the singer at a time when she had reportedly exhausted all other options.
Grace Khan, known for her song Kameese Tambula, had been undergoing treatment for alcohol addiction. Reports indicate that this was her second time being admitted to rehab after previously relapsing.
While speaking after her discharge, the singer expressed deep gratitude to the federation and the individuals who helped secure her release. She described their support as life-changing during a difficult chapter in her life.

“I am very excited to finally leave rehab. The Uganda National Musicians Federation has been a Godsend to me,” Grace Khan said.
She also thanked several musicians who contributed to her recovery journey, including Sewa Sewa and Lilian Mbabazi, among others who stood by her during the challenging period.
“I will not focus on those who didn’t help me. I want to thank the people who showed up for me. They are angels sent by God,” she added.
Grace Khan revealed that much of her time in rehabilitation was spent reflecting on her life and meditating about the future. According to her, the quiet environment allowed her to think deeply about how she wants to rebuild her life and career once she regains full control.
The caretaker at the rehabilitation centre reportedly cautioned the singer to stay disciplined, warning that any future relapse would be handled firmly.
Fans of Grace Khan now hope that this marks a fresh start for the talented vocalist as she focuses on recovery and eventually returns to making music.
