Born George Kigozi, the singer once had his sights set on something completely different from music. While studying at Masaka Secondary School for his A-Level, he took on PCB/M — Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics — with one clear dream in mind: becoming a doctor.
And he wasn’t just another student in the class. Speaking during an interview on Galaxy TV, Geosteady revealed that he was one of the top performers. In fact, he did so well that he earned a government sponsorship to Busitema University.
But there was a twist.
His heart was set on Makerere University. Confident and determined, he turned down the Busitema opportunity, hoping to pursue his dream course at the university he truly wanted. Unfortunately, reality hit hard — his parents couldn’t afford the tuition fees at Makerere.
Faced with limited options, Geosteady made a mature decision. During his Senior Six vacation, he took up teaching to earn some money and support himself as he figured out his next move. Life, however, had other plans — and eventually steered him toward music, where he would later make his mark.
Looking back, Geosteady still takes pride in his academic journey. He shared that he has kept some of his old school materials, including periodic tables and other science notes, hoping to pass them down to his daughters one day.
“I was a very good performer in class,” he said, adding that he now enjoys teaching his two girls some of the science knowledge he once mastered. According to him, they proudly tell people, “Daddy knows everything.”
