In an interview on NBS TV, he was asked whether he felt betrayed by the very people who once regarded him as one of the country’s most influential politicians while they held him so dear to their hearts and he said he doesn’t see it in that way at all.

“The people of Kira have trusted me with 15 years in Parliament, and I’m grateful to God. If, in their judgement, they now feel it’s the right moment for me to step aside, I agree and will continue with the struggle for freedom outside Parliament.” – Hon. Ssemujju.

He openly revealed that he has fully accepted the defeat even though he genuinely believed he would win, considering how confident and active the campaigns were. “When I campaigned, I thought I would win, but when the results came out, I lost, and I do concede.” – explains Hon. Ssemujju.

He also reflected on the broader changes in Parliament, pointing out that some of the MPs who have exited Parliament are leaders, the house and their constituents will genuinely miss. Hon. Ssemujju Nganda notes that whenever he talks about quality, some people get offended, but he insists it’s simply the truth.

“MPs like Hon. Ssegona, Hon. Mpuuga, Hon. Ashman, Hon. Jonathan Odur, among others are deeply knowledgeable and genuinely service-oriented more than people who’ve been in service for over 2 decades.” – Hon. Ssemujju.

Despite losing his seat, Ssemujju made it clear that his commitment to the struggle for freedom is unchanged, and he intends to continue his activism as his tenure doesn’t only end in office.
