The iKON Awards has teamed up with Blue Pictures Entertainment in a new partnership aimed at opening doors for Ugandan filmmakers on the international stage. Under the agreement, iKON Awards will serve as the execution and implementation partner for SIRA in Uganda, paving the way for film distribution, co-productions, and expanded market access for local creatives.

Founded in 2011 by award-winning film executive Joy Odiete, Blue Pictures Entertainment is a leading pan-African film distribution and production company. With more than 20 years of experience in film sales and distribution across Africa, the company distributes both Nollywood and Hollywood content to African cinemas, while also handling theatrical distribution, marketing, content aggregation, and operating cinema platforms in West Africa.
Blue Pictures Entertainment is also the driving force behind SIRA – The African Hub, an initiative that promotes cross-border collaboration, creative trade, talent development, co-productions, and cultural exchange across Africa’s film and creative industries.
Through this partnership, several initiatives are planned for 2026:
