One of the fastest-rising female voices in the past two years, Tracy Melon has opened up about the persistent harassment female musicians face within the music industry.

The Ogenda Kukilaba singer revealed that inappropriate advances and pressure for favors in exchange for airplay or opportunities remain a reality for many upcoming female artists. Over the years, several women in the industry have spoken about similar experiences, while some male figures have even admitted to engaging in such practices during media interviews.
Tracy says she has personally witnessed these challenges but considers herself fortunate to have avoided falling victim.
“It is true these things happen in the industry. I have seen it for myself. But I’ve been able to stand my ground and fight back,” Tracy Melon shared.

According to her, one of the biggest protections for female artists is having a strong and reliable team.
“The women who survive this space are those who move with a big team. When you’re not alone on the ground, it becomes harder for anyone to try and take advantage of you,” she added.
Beyond addressing industry challenges, Tracy also clarified her current relationship status. The singer described herself as open and easy to work with but emphasized that she is single and fully focused on building her music career.
Like many young artists at the start of their journeys, she believes this is the season to prioritize growth, consistency, and establishing her brand before considering long-term commitments.
