- Quits Politics: Jacob Omutuuze says he will never contest again after the Bunamwaya defeat.
- Rigging Claims: He alleges violence, arrests, and security interference skewed results.
- Kenzo Dragged In: Omutuuze says Nobat Events tipped him about Eddy Kenzo’s alleged role, though he doubts the singer’s capacity to influence the election.
Media personality Jacob Omutuuze has vowed never to participate in politics again following his defeat in the race for Lord Councilor of Bunamwaya.

Speaking in an interview with Spark TV, Jacob alleged that the election was marred by widespread irregularities and intimidation. He disputed the declared results, which gave NRM’s Namara Betty over 10,000 votes against his roughly 2,000, saying they did not reflect the will of the voters.
According to the former Dembe FM presenter, the exercise amounted to “daylight robbery,” claiming that violence and security interference disrupted his campaign operations and polling agents.
“This was daylight robbery. The things that were done to my team are unspeakable. Some of my agents were beaten, arrested, and others taken away by security operatives,” Omutuuze said.

He further alleged that individuals linked to the ruling NRM used drones to track and arrest some of his supporters and agents. Additionally, he claimed several of them were clobbered, battered, and later detained.
In a more shocking twist, Omutuuze dragged singer Eddy Kenzo into the controversy. He said he had been tipped off by events promoter Nobat Events that the Big Talent Entertainment boss was allegedly working behind the scenes to ensure he did not reclaim the seat he has occupied since 2021.
Despite the claims, Omutuuze expressed doubt that Kenzo had the capacity or authority to influence an election at that scale.
He argued that the presence of SFC soldiers, whom he accuses of carrying out acts of intimidation, suggested the involvement of more powerful actors.
However, he noted that if the allegations linking Kenzo were true, he wished him well.
It should be noted that both Jacob Omutuuze and Nobat Events have previously had public disagreements with the “Stamina” singer. This therefore makes it unclear whether the claims hold any weight.
Namara Betty was ultimately declared winner of the hotly contested Bunamwaya Lord Councilor race.
