- Kabako says this year’s Ramadan is more meaningful as he prays for all Ugandans, not just his family.
- The singer revealed he withdrew from the public and rejected interviews due to emotional pain.
- He is now seeking forgiveness, healing, and new opportunities beyond music.
Musician Kabako has opened up about why this year’s Ramadan carries a deeper meaning for him.

In a candid conversation with Spark TV, Kabako shared that unlike previous years—when he dedicated the holy month mainly to his immediate family—this time his prayers are wider. He says he is fasting and praying not just for his loved ones, but also for friends, distant relatives, and all Ugandans.
According to the singer, Ramadan is a season of reflection and forgiveness. He encouraged those who have wronged others to find the courage to apologise, and those who have been hurt to open their hearts and forgive. But as he spoke about reconciliation, it became clear that his message was rooted in personal experience.
Kabako admitted the past month has been emotionally heavy for him. He revealed that he struggled with anger and frustration, choosing to withdraw from people around him. In fact, he said he turned down every media interview request during that period because he simply wasn’t in the right headspace.

“I had a lot of pain in my heart because of what happened, and everyone was quiet about it,” he said, hinting at unresolved issues that left him feeling isolated and disappointed.
Now, however, he says he is slowly finding peace. He is hopeful that Allah will accept the prayers and fasting of everyone observing the holy month.
Beyond that, Kabako also made a personal prayer—asking for a new direction in life. While music is all he has ever known, he revealed that he hopes Allah blesses him with opportunities beyond the industry.
He wrapped up his message by wishing Ramadan Kareem to Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the leader of the National Unity Platform, and to all Ugandans observing the holy month.
