• Lil Pazo addressed President Museveni during Jazz With Jajja 2 at Kisozi Ranch.
  • He claimed fellow musicians block him from accessing the President despite his campaign support.
  • The singer openly requested financial assistance and submitted letters to top State House officials.

Musician Lil Pazo delivered both a performance and a heartfelt appeal during the second edition of Jazz With Jajja, held at Kisozi Ranch. The event brought together members of the media and entertainment industry for an interactive session with President Yoweri Museveni.

The “Ekisododo” singer was among the few artistes granted an opportunity to speak directly to the President. In his address, Lil Pazo expressed frustration over what he described as being sidelined by fellow musicians whenever opportunities to meet the Head of State arise.

“Mr. President, some musicians always block us from reaching you. Yet we also worked hard for you during the campaign,” Pazo said.

He noted that while the President is familiar with established names such as Bebe Cool, Catherine Kusasira, Eddy Kenzo, and Jose Chameleone, he too played an active role in mobilizing support during the campaign period that saw President Museveni re-elected with 71 percent.

Pazo recounted how he traversed different parts of the country campaigning and performing. “I sang for you and campaigned wholeheartedly. I came back to Kampala looking like Joseph Kony, but I was never refunded,” he said, drawing mixed reactions from the audience.

The singer openly asked the President for financial assistance, revealing that he is currently struggling financially. He also mentioned a previous trip to Gulu to seek help from General Salim Saleh, which he claims left him unwell.

In addition to his verbal plea, Lil Pazo handed letters to State House Controller Jane Barekye, Head of the Government Citizens Interaction Centre Marcella Karekye, and Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs Proscovia Nalweyiso.

He concluded by expressing hope that the President would consider his request, saying he too desires a better life like some of his fellow artistes.

It remains to be seen whether the President will respond to Lil Pazo’s appeal.
