Musician Lydia Jazmine has shared advice to fellow artists about maintaining professionalism when working relationships with their managers come to an end.

Jazmine noted that misunderstandings between artists and managers are common in the entertainment industry, especially given the amount of time they spend working — and often socialising — together. However, she emphasised that what matters most is how both parties handle the aftermath.

She was responding to a reporter’s question regarding the recent split between fellow singer Spice Diana and her longtime manager Roger Lubega. The two had worked together for over a decade, with Lubega widely credited for playing a key role in building Spice Diana’s brand and elevating her into one of Uganda’s top female artists.

Reflecting on her own experience, Jazmine spoke about her past professional relationship with former manager Bushingtone.

“It doesn’t matter what led to the breakup. What matters is respecting the role someone has played in your journey. Bushingtone contributed a big brick to my career, and I appreciate that.”

She revealed that despite their separation, she has never spoken negatively about him publicly. The two remain in contact and are on good terms — something she encourages other artists to emulate when partnerships end.

Beyond management matters, Jazmine also opened up about her recent trip to Kenya, describing it as part of her strategy to expand musically beyond Uganda.

She explained that while Ugandans have already embraced her music, she is now focused on growing her regional and international footprint.

On her personal life, Jazmine said she intends to get married and start a family when the time feels right. She added that her love for children is well known, noting that she often spends time with her siblings’ children, especially during school holidays.

The singer also hinted at plans for another major concert, two years after staging her debut show, revealing that preparations are underway and an official announcement will be made soon.
