Reality TV star and entrepreneur Mamideb has spoken about the cosmetic surgery she underwent in December 2025, opening up about the emotional journey that led to her decision.

For months, the businesswoman — whose real name is Deborah Nantongo Cleave — had been the subject of relentless online trolling. Much of it targeted her body, especially after she relocated from the UK to Uganda. What started as background noise on social media slowly became impossible to ignore.
“For the first time, I was reading comments and they were hurting — because deep down, I knew I had let myself go. It wasn’t easy to let my boobs go. It felt like giving in,” she admitted.
MamiDeb revealed that she chose to undergo a breast reduction and liposuction after grappling with the constant criticism. In a video recorded just before the procedure, she became emotional while explaining how the negativity had affected her.

She said she had always loved her body and never saw a problem with it — until the online attacks grew louder.

“People have dragged my boobs to the point that I wanted to be someone else. I never hated my boobs, but ever since I started living here in Uganda after leaving the UK, I can’t believe I have decided to reduce my boobs because of how much hate I get online,” she shared.
Despite the harsh commentary, MamiDeb was quick to point out that her husband, Michael Cleave, has always appreciated her body just the way it was. She stressed that the surgery was not about pleasing anyone else, but about finding peace within herself.
The procedure was successful, and the changes have been significant. In just seven weeks, she has lost 16 kilograms, dropping from 97kg to 80kg — a transformation she says has left her feeling lighter both physically and emotionally.
