- Mayinja says no artist has received full payment for the NRM campaign performances.

Singer Ronald Mayinja has dismissed allegations by Buchaman that some musicians who performed on the NRM campaign trail were paid while others remain unpaid.

Buchaman recently claimed that artists including Catherine Kusasira, Mayinja, Phina Mugerwa Masanyalaze, and Eddy Kenzo received their payments, while he and others are still demanding theirs. He further threatened to sue Bebe Cool, claiming he has a working contract with him that has not been honored.
However, Mayinja says those claims are not true.
“What we received was facilitation during the campaign trail. None of us has been paid the actual balance as alleged,” Mayinja clarified.

The Tuli Ku Bunkenke singer added that all artists were informed that their payments would be processed in the first or second quarter of the year.
“Each one of us was told when the money would come. It seems there was either a misunderstanding or the contract terms were not clearly interpreted,” he said.
Mayinja maintained that it is wrong to single out certain artists as having been cleared, insisting that no musician on the list has received full payment.
Meanwhile, the veteran singer also addressed why he no longer heavily promotes his famous end-of-year concert. He explained that although he would love to continue organizing it on a large scale, he often struggles to break even.
“I invest a lot in that concert, but sometimes I don’t recover the profits as expected. It becomes hard to sustain,” he noted.
The matter continues to spark debate within the music industry and the public as artists await clarity on their dues.
