• Munyagwa confirms he will contest for president again in 2031.
  • He plans nationwide recruitment and grassroots mobilization.
  • The Commandsman Party aims to field more candidates in various positions next cycle.

The president of the Common Man’s Party, Mubarak Munyagwa, has revealed that he is ready to stand again for president in 2031.

Speaking during an appearance on the Kasuku Live talk show hosted by Isaac Katende aka Kasuku, Munyagwa said he is unfazed by critics and fellow contenders who have hinted at boycotting future elections organized by the current regime.

“Some candidates are saying they will not participate in the next elections, but as for us, we are preparing to make our impact felt,” Munyagwa said.

The former presidential contender, who finished a distant seventh in the just concluded election, insisted that the coming five years will be dedicated to strengthening his political base across the country.

“Immediately after the ceremony in May, I will be on the ground cementing the party. We are going to recruit members and ensure we have representation in various positions in the next election cycle,” he added.

Munyagwa acknowledged his underperformance in the recent polls but described it as a learning curve. He expressed confidence that with stronger grassroots structures and broader national visibility, the Commandsman Party will perform better in 2031.

Political observers now wait to see whether the next five years will prove decisive in reshaping Munyagwa’s political fortunes.
