Ugandan gospel singer Mungu Feni has taken another big step in his rising career after earning a nomination at the prestigious Shining Stars Africa Awards 2026.

Born Benard Feni, the West Nile (Arua)-raised artist has been nominated for Best Star New Gospel Artist of the Year 2025/2026—a remarkable achievement considering he has only spent three years in the music industry.
In that short time, Mungu Feni has steadily built a name for himself through a series of gospel projects that have resonated with listeners both at home and abroad. His music is available on major streaming platforms worldwide, and the numbers speak for themselves. With over 3 million streams across platforms like Shazam, YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Audiomack, Boomplay, Tubidy, and Uganda’s Song Boost, Feni ranks among the top-performing gospel acts in his lane.
Interestingly, his growing international audience has led some fans to assume he is from West Africa, thanks to his strong following beyond Uganda’s borders. Yet the singer proudly represents West Nile and continues to wave the Ugandan flag high.

What makes this nomination even more unique is that Mungu Feni has achieved it without staging a major public concert or performance—something rare in an industry where live shows often define an artist’s visibility. Despite that, his digital presence and impact have clearly not gone unnoticed.
The Shining Stars Africa Awards, set to take place in Rwanda, celebrate individuals and organizations that are shaping Africa’s creative economy. Voting officially opens on February 9 and will close on March 7.
Beyond music, Mungu Feni is also a businessman and entrepreneur, serving as the founder of Euro Gold. He is known for balancing his faith, family, and business ventures with notable commitment.

His influence stretches even further through the Mungu Feni Foundation, an NGO based in West Nile that focuses on community empowerment. The foundation has received continental recognition, winning Best Community Transformation Organisation in East Africa at the East Africa Brand Quality Awards. It also scooped multiple accolades at the 2025 West Nile Quality Brand Awards, including the Quality Excellence Award – Platinum, Best Community Development NGO, and Best Local NGO.
For an artist just three years into his journey, Mungu Feni’s nomination is more than just a personal milestone—it signals the growing impact of Ugandan gospel music on the African stage.
