- Recho Rey confirmed she is currently single during a Galaxy FM interview.
- She says many men approach her but rarely make serious intentions clear.
- The singer values vibe and good behavior over specific traits in a partner.
Dancehall singer Recho Rey has opened up about her relationship status, revealing that she is currently single — and believes fear could be part of the reason why.

While appearing on Galaxy FM’s Jikonkone program, the “Biwatto” hitmaker was asked whether she is seeing anyone at the moment. Recho Rey confirmed she is not in a relationship, explaining that although many men show interest, very few take things seriously.
“I’m single right now. Of course men shoot their shot — from musicians to DJs and other people — but most of them never follow through seriously,” she said.
According to the singer, attention is not the problem. She disclosed that her inbox is often flooded with messages from admirers. However, she feels many of them hesitate to take the next step, possibly intimidated by her status and personality.

“Maybe they fear me,” she added with a laugh. “I don’t know, but sometimes it feels that way.”
When asked about the qualities she looks for in a partner, Recho Rey emphasized that she is not overly selective about specific traits. Instead, connection and mutual understanding matter most to her.
“I don’t pick-pick qualities. As long as we vibe and the behavior is right, that’s what’s important to me,” she explained.
The singer’s remarks reflect a broader trend within the entertainment industry, where several female artistes remain single. Observers often attribute this to factors such as celebrity status, perceived high standards, or assumptions about lifestyle and maintenance.
Despite being widely regarded as one of Uganda’s most attractive and confident performers, Recho Rey appears relaxed about her single status — making it clear that for her, genuine connection outweighs everything else.
