Singer Rickman Manrick has openly described fellow musician Grenade Official as one of the most ill-mannered people he has ever encountered in Uganda’s music industry, revealing that their fallout goes far beyond the boxing ring.

Speaking during an interview on Galaxy FM, the Baliwanika hitmaker said he intentionally distances himself from people with poor character, adding that his concerns about Grenade’s behavior became clear when they recorded their collaboration, “Kusimuka.”

“I can’t surround myself with badly behaved people.”

Rickman explained that Grenade often carries himself like someone trying to become a star by belittling others, something he says made it difficult to build any real friendship.

“My issue is not his music, but the kind of person he is.”

When asked whether that bitterness partly motivated his victory in their celebrity boxing match last year, Rickman admitted it added some fuel, but stressed that his sporting mindset naturally pushes him to win whenever he enters a competitive arena.

The tension between the two dates back to their infamous altercation at La Terrazza in Kampala, where Grenade allegedly threw a glass that cut Rickman’s lip. The public fallout eventually led to a celebrity grudge boxing match, which Rickman won comfortably.

According to Rickman, Grenade remains someone he considers badly cultured and not the kind of person worth keeping close as a friend.
