• Vybz Kartel denied reports claiming he will perform in Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya in May 2026.
  • The dancehall star said neither he nor his management has confirmed any East African tour.
  • Kartel warned fans and promoters not to send money to individuals advertising the alleged shows.

Vybz Kartel has dismissed circulating reports claiming he is set to embark on an East African tour later this year, clarifying that neither he nor his management team is aware of any such plans.

For the past few days, social media has been awash with posts suggesting that the self-proclaimed “King of Dancehall” would be heading to the region for a three-country tour. According to the widely shared promotional material, the tour was expected to kick off in Kampala, Uganda, with a show at Lugogo Cricket Oval on May 1. It would then move to Kigali, Rwanda, for a performance at BK Arena on May 2, before concluding in Nairobi, Kenya, on May 8 at Laureate Gardens on Thika Road.

However, Kartel has now poured cold water on the claims.

In a statement shared on his official Instagram page, the dancehall star made it clear that the information circulating online is false and unauthorized.

“It has come to my attention that a post is circulating claiming that I will be embarking on an East African tour in May 2026,” Kartel wrote. “Let me be absolutely clear: neither my management nor I have any knowledge of, or involvement in, any such tour. No East African shows have been announced or confirmed by my team.”

He went on to warn fans and promoters to be cautious, saying individuals promoting the alleged tour are acting without his authorization and could be misleading the public.

“Any individuals, promoters, or platforms claiming to be booking or advertising these shows are acting without authorization and are misleading the public,” he added. “Fans, promoters, and venues are strongly advised not to engage with or send money to anyone making such claims, as these may be scams.”

Kartel emphasized that any legitimate announcements about his performances will only come through his verified platforms or authorized representatives.

He further clarified that the only people permitted to speak or act on his behalf are his manager, Linton T.J. White, and his attorney, Jason Mitchell.

Kartel concluded with a warning that anyone falsely using his name to promote unauthorized events will face the consequences.
