- Apostle Jonathan Nalebo accused Bebe Cool of attacking more successful artists to stay relevant.
- He said Eddy Kenzo’s catalog, awards and global reach surpass Bebe Cool’s.
- Nalebo ranked Chameleone, Kenzo, Radio & Weasel and Sheebah among Uganda’s biggest hitmakers.
Self-styled pastor, Apostle Jonathan Nalebo, is not about to take his foot off the gas pedal when it comes to criticizing Ugandan music heavyweight Bebe Cool.

While appearing in a YouTube interview, Nalebo claimed that Bebe Cool has built a habit over the years of attacking artists who are rising or dominating the industry.
His remarks followed Bebe Cool’s recent TikTok Live session where the Gagamel boss downplayed comparisons between himself and Eddy Kenzo, saying they are not on the same level and dismissing talk of past political or industry rivalry between them.
Nalebo, however, insisted this was not new behavior.

“Bebe Cool’s survival tactic has always been to attack artists who are shining more than him.”
He went further to compare the two catalogs, arguing that Kenzo’s body of work and achievements far outweigh Bebe Cool’s.
“From the time Eddy Kenzo released Stamina, Bebe Cool came on TV and reduced him to just a dancer — yet today Kenzo’s music speaks for itself.”
Nalebo also listed who he believes are Uganda’s most impactful hitmakers, placing Jose Chameleone, Eddy Kenzo, Radio and Weasel, and Sheebah Karungi among the artists with the biggest song catalogs locally.
Turning to reggae, Nalebo argued that Bebe Cool has long “camouflaged” as Uganda’s top reggae act, claiming he does not come close to legends like Madox Ssematimba in influence or impact.
On the international stage, Nalebo maintained that Kenzo remains Uganda’s most decorated and globally recognized performer, citing the global platforms he has graced.
He referenced Bebe Cool’s performance at Hyde Park during celebrations linked to Nelson Mandela, arguing that even then he performed a remix tribute, Phily Bongole Lutaaya’s Born in Africa rather than his own original global hit.
Nalebo concluded by urging Bebe Cool to stop taking jabs at Kenzo, insisting the two artists are operating on completely different levels of influence and achievement.
