Zari Hassan has weighed in on a growing trend that many find uncomfortable: influencers turning funerals into content hubs. Her comments come shortly after the tragic death of TikToker Dianah Skys, who passed away a few days ago after reportedly being strangled by unknown individuals in her apartment.

Dianah’s burial attracted a large number of fellow content creators. Many of them recorded videos at her vigil and funeral, later posting the clips across various social media platforms where they quickly racked up massive engagement.

While some viewed this as a way of paying tribute, others felt it crossed a line. Critics have since spoken out, saying such behavior often overlooks the pain and privacy of grieving families and mourners.

Zari was among those who didn’t hold back. She openly called out the practice, describing it as insensitive and exploitative. To leave no room for doubt, she went a step further and shared what she jokingly referred to as her own “will” on the matter. According to Zari, when her time eventually comes, she wants no influencers, TikTokers, or YouTubers anywhere near her burial.

“My burial should have about 20 people, including my close family and a few responsible individuals,” she said. “TikTokers, influencers, and YouTubers should never get close to my family or attend my burial.” She was quick to add that her stance isn’t fueled by bitterness, but by personal choice and a desire for dignity and privacy.

Zari also had a message for the religious leaders who would preside over her funeral. She asked that the service be kept brief and respectful, without unnecessary delays or theatrics.

“The sheikhs and imams at my burial should make everything as quick as possible so people can move on,” she added.
