Veteran Ugandan musician Ragga Dee has advised artists in the current generation to prioritize music and protect their reputation instead of engaging in unnecessary fights and beefs.

Speaking during an interview with Sanyuka TV, the legendary singer reflected on the difference between the music industry during his era and what is happening today.

According to him, artists in the past focused more on building their craft and maintaining integrity rather than seeking attention through violence and conflicts.

“During our times, we had integrity and the understanding that we have reputation to protect,” Ragga Dee explained.

The singer, who has spent more than four decades in the entertainment industry, cautioned musicians against believing that violence or fighting makes one a bigger star. He revealed that throughout his career, he has witnessed serious consequences resulting from physical altercations.

“I have seen what fighting can do because I personally witnessed someone being taken to Luzira prison for life,” he shared.

Ragga Dee further warned that some people may have underlying body weaknesses, meaning a simple fight could easily turn fatal and leave another person facing serious legal consequences.

He encouraged young and upcoming artists to focus on nurturing their talent, creating good music, and winning fans through positive ways instead of forcing people to support them.

“If someone has talent and they desire to join music, they should focus on that and win fans’ love rather than forcing people to love them,” he added.

The veteran singer also weighed in on the ongoing feud between Pallaso and King Saha. Ragga Dee revealed that both artists are close to him and he considers them his sons, adding that he is actively working towards reconciling them.

According to him, both Pallaso and King Saha are talented musicians who should channel their energy into entertaining fans rather than engaging in violence.

“They are both very good artists and loved by people. I keep telling them that whenever you’re violent, you keep on reducing the number of people who love and support you,” he noted.
