Television personalities Douglas Lwanga and Sandra Lian have emerged as the top two entertainment presenters in Uganda, according to the latest rankings released by Market Intelligence Group.

The recognition places the two presenters at the centre of Uganda’s competitive entertainment television scene, where personalities continue to play a major role in attracting audiences through music, celebrity interviews, trending stories and pop-culture conversations.

Lwanga, one of Uganda’s most established entertainment TV personalities, was ranked number one among the country’s top entertainment presenters. His influence has been strengthened by his work on NBS TV’s After 5, which also took the top spot in the Best Showdown Show (Evening Entertainment) category for 2026.

Over the years, Lwanga has built a reputation around energetic interviews, celebrity conversations and entertainment stories, making After 5 one of the programmes closely associated with Uganda’s evening entertainment television.

Lian, who has become one of the prominent faces of Sanyuka TV, followed closely in second position. Her rise reflects the growing influence of female entertainment presenters and the changing tastes of Uganda’s younger television audience.

Lian is part of a strong entertainment team at Sanyuka TV that includes personalities such as Senga Nantume, Kalela, Mukunja and Ann Taylor, who have contributed to the station’s increasingly entertainment-focused identity.

Sanyuka TV has also continued to gain ground in Uganda’s vernacular television market, with the latest Market Intelligence Group rankings placing it second behind Bukedde TV. The station has increasingly positioned itself around music, celebrity stories, gossip, live entertainment and trending social media conversations, helping it appeal to a younger audience.

The rankings also highlight the depth of Uganda’s entertainment television talent, with several familiar faces continuing to command significant audiences across different programmes and stations. However, Lwanga and Lian’s positions at number one and two underline their growing influence within the sector.

While their success is closely linked to the platforms they represent—with Lwanga at NBS TV and Lian at Sanyuka TV—the latest recognition ultimately puts the spotlight on the presenters and the connection they have built with their audiences.

For Lwanga, the recognition comes with an additional achievement after After 5 was named Uganda’s leading evening entertainment showdown show for 2026. For Lian, the second-place ranking further cements her position among the country’s most influential entertainment television personalities.
