Ugandan rapper Feffe Bussi has revealed his long-term ambition of transforming his record label, FBM (Feffe Bussi Music), into one of the biggest music powerhouses in Uganda and eventually across Africa.

Drawing inspiration from successful Nigerian music executives and labels, Feffe Bussi said he hopes to create a platform that consistently discovers, nurtures, and exports talent to the international stage.

“When you look at people like Olamide, Don Jazzy and others, you see that it is possible to build a legacy beyond your own music career. That is something I would also love to achieve with FBM,” Feffe Bussi said.

The rapper noted that while he is still actively focused on his music career, he envisions a future where he gradually transitions into a leadership role within the music business, helping shape the next generation of stars.

According to him, Uganda already has musicians capable of building successful labels and talent pipelines, but the industry often lacks the goodwill and commitment required to sustain such ventures.

“There are people in Uganda who can do exactly what these Nigerian executives have done, but sometimes there is not enough goodwill to keep things moving in the right direction,” he added.

Over the years, several Ugandan artists and entrepreneurs have ventured into artist management and record label operations with varying degrees of success. However, many projects have been hampered by contractual disputes, misunderstandings, and artist-management fallouts.

One of the notable success stories remains Swangz Avenue, founded by Benon Mugumbya and Julius Kyazze, which has successfully developed and managed multiple artists over the years.

Whether Feffe Bussi can replicate such success with FBM remains to be seen, but his ambitions suggest he is thinking far beyond life as a performer.
