Kimberly Jael Aremo, the 19-year old who comes from Kole District in Northern Uganda and was a people’s favorite in the just concluded Miss Universe Uganda contest has opened up about the biggest challenge she faced during the quest, revealing that her naturally introverted personality made it difficult to put herself out there more than she did.

Speaking during an interview with Galaxy TV, Kimberly admitted that stepping outside her comfort zone was one of the most challenging parts of the competition.
“I’m such a reserved and introverted person. Putting myself out there brought me out of that bubble that I was in,” she said.
The beauty queen recalled that her reserved nature was even noticed by her fellow contestants during the Miss Universe boot camp, with some questioning why she was often alone.

However, Kimberly said she has been consciously working on becoming more outgoing and pushing herself beyond the comfort zone she has always known.
Beyond physical appearance, Kimberly believes pageantry requires contestants to have a strong sense of purpose and something meaningful they stand for.
According to her, contestants should identify a cause or purpose they are willing to carry with them regardless of whether they win the crown.
“This is something you carry beyond the pageant. You stand for it knowing that whether you win or not, it is something you’re willing to hold onto and sell,” she shared.
Kimberly emphasized that the true value of pageantry goes beyond beauty and competition, noting that contestants should use the platform to discover their purpose, empower themselves and ultimately inspire and empower others.
