Ugandan singer Aziz Azion has opened up about why he has never embraced music industry feuds, saying he learned from watching the experiences of veteran artists such as Bobi Wine, Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool.

Speaking during a recent interview, the “Oxygen” singer said his generation grew up witnessing the constant clashes and rivalries among some of Uganda’s biggest music stars. While such disputes often attracted public attention, Aziz believes they rarely produced positive outcomes.

“We grew up seeing our elders like Bobi Wine, Chameleone and Bebe Cool fighting. In the end, we realized there was no real benefit from those beefs, and even they eventually moved on from them.”

According to Aziz, disagreements in the entertainment industry are inevitable. However, he believes artists should exercise restraint and focus on the bigger picture rather than engaging in public confrontations.

He noted that every musician will encounter people who provoke them, but maturity and personal values should guide how they respond.

“You will always find someone in the industry who annoys you or pushes you into a fight, but you have to think about your background, your future and the greater good.”

The singer also shared his views on the ongoing family controversy surrounding the late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Job Kafeero. In recent weeks, several individuals have come forward claiming to be children of the deceased musician, leading to calls for DNA testing to establish paternity.

Aziz said he would not dismiss those making such claims, especially given the life many musicians live and his personal knowledge of Kafeero during his lifetime.

He added that DNA testing remains the fairest way to settle such disputes. Reflecting on his own life, Aziz revealed that he knows of three children he has fathered. However, should additional claims emerge after his death, he would support scientific testing to establish the truth.

The singer further advised fellow musicians to preserve DNA samples where possible, arguing that doing so could help families resolve future inheritance and paternity disputes without unnecessary conflict.
