Musician Fyno UG has spoken out to dismiss widespread allegations that he was arrested over other issues, clarifying that his brief detention was instead the result of a dispute with a concert promoter.

The “Che Che” singer confirmed that he was arrested but stressed that the circumstances had been misrepresented on social media.

According to Fyno, he had accepted an invitation to perform at a concert. However, upon arriving at the venue, he was unexpectedly handcuffed and taken into police custody, where he spent only a few hours before the matter was resolved.

“I was arrested, yes, but it had nothing to do with rape. People should stop spreading false information that destroys other people’s names.”

Fyno explained that the promoter behind the incident had previously organized a show where the singer arrived late, creating tension between the two. The promoter later booked him for another performance, but instead of taking the stage, Fyno says he was arrested upon arrival.

The incident was confirmed by Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, who stated that the matter was resolved through mediation between the promoter and the artist.

“A rape case is a very serious offence. Such a case cannot simply end with someone being released after a few hours. People should verify facts before making accusations.”

Addressing speculation about his career, Fyno also dismissed claims that he had abandoned music to become a full-time content creator. While acknowledging that content creation is becoming increasingly popular, he maintained that music remains his primary focus.

The singer revealed that he has several songs already available and is currently working on new releases, urging fans to look forward to more music in the near future.
