Musician Diana Nalubega has issued a candid warning to men hoping to marry her, saying she does not have the capacity or knowledge to “build a man” through constant advice, guidance and decision-making.

The Kisumuluzo singer was speaking during an interview with Flavia Namulindwa, where she explained that she has always focused on having the knowledge and ability to support herself and her daughter.

According to Diana, some men expect marriage to come with a woman who can help shape their lives, offer advice and provide the support needed to achieve their goals. However, she said that anyone approaching her with that expectation would be disappointed.

“The only knowledge I have is to support myself and my daughter.”

Diana was asked whether she could at least advise a man on what to do in different situations. She responded that one of the qualities she considers most important in a potential husband is intelligence.

“The first quality I look for in a man is that he must be very brilliant.”

She explained that if a marriage depended entirely on her to make decisions, guide her husband and effectively “build” him, both partners would eventually struggle.

For Diana, the responsibility of building a successful marriage should not rest solely on the woman. She said the expectation that a wife must constantly guide, advise and shape her husband is among the things that make her hesitant about marriage.
