Reggae-dancehall singer Sama Sojah, popularly known for his hit song Akaama, has opened up about what he describes as disturbing experiences involving witchcraft in Uganda’s music industry.

Speaking during a media interview, the singer claimed that he has personally encountered what he believes were acts of witchcraft, including strange creatures allegedly sent to his home.

Additionally, Sama Sojah said some of the creatures resembled snakes but had more than four legs, leaving him deeply disturbed. He stressed that the experience was not something he was taking lightly and thanked God for keeping him alive.

“There is a lot of witchcraft in the music industry, and I have experienced it myself. They have sent me creatures that look like snakes and have more than four legs to my home.”

The Akaama singer also claimed that some of these experiences have extended into his dreams, where he says he has been warned against returning to certain places.

The singer and songwriter further expressed particular concern because he lives with his wife and children, arguing that anyone allegedly sending such things to his home shows little regard for the safety of his family.

“I have encountered these things myself. It is not a story I am cooking up, and I thank God that I am still alive.”

Allegations of witchcraft and other forms of spiritual interference have surfaced repeatedly within Uganda’s entertainment industry, with some musicians attributing career setbacks or personal challenges to such forces. However, these claims remain allegations and have not been independently verified.

For the singer, however, the experiences he describes are personal and remain a serious concern.
