Veteran musician Qute Kaye has joined the debate surrounding fake pastors in Uganda, defending Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral and crediting the preacher’s prayers with transforming his life.

The debate, reignited by Frank Gashumba, has drawn attention to several religious leaders, with Pastor Kayanja among those being discussed over claims surrounding miracles and healing at his church.

However, Qute Kaye has come out in support of the pastor, describing himself as living proof that miracles exist.

According to the singer, his transformation began years ago when he encountered Kayanja during the church’s 77 Days of Glory programme. Kaye believes the pastor’s prayers and prophecy over his life played a significant role in changing his circumstances.

“Everyone saw how I was. People had given up on me, but when Pastor Kayanja looked at me, he changed my destiny,” Kaye said, reflecting on his journey.

The musician maintained that without the pastor’s intervention, his life could have taken a completely different direction.

“If it wasn’t for Pastor Kayanja, I would be a different person today,” he said, expressing gratitude to the preacher for what he considers a turning point in his life.

Qute Kaye added that his personal transformation has also inspired other people, particularly parents who have reached out to appreciate the changes they have witnessed in their children.

He said some parents have been calling him to thank him for the positive influence he has had on their children, adding that he now considers himself a miracle in other people’s lives.

Meanwhile, the Ginkese singer revealed that he is currently in London pursuing further studies as he works towards becoming a certified counsellor.

Kaye explained that he first obtained a diploma in counselling before pursuing cognitive behavioural therapy, a field that interests him because of his desire to understand how the human brain works.

He said he intends to continue with further studies after completing his current level of training, with the ultimate goal of becoming a qualified counsellor.

Despite the controversy surrounding religious leaders, Qute Kaye remains convinced that miracles exist, pointing to his own life as evidence of his belief.
